Vienna, the city of classical elegance and strict rules, has become the unwitting host to one of the most unusual parking cases we've ever seen. When it comes to storing a €300,000 masterpiece like a Ferrari 296, apparently traditional garages are no longer enough.
Amar Dejic, a 28-year-old resident of the Austrian capital, decided to give new meaning to the phrase "room with a view". Unable to provide a suitable place for his Italian beauty during the winter months, he was inspired by the exotic practices of Dubai, where supercars often rise to luxury penthouses. His solution? To turn his own balcony into a private car showroom.
Of course, lifting a 1.4-ton car onto a residential terrace is not a task for the everyday handyman. For this purpose, Dejic hired roadside assistance teams and a large crane. This "parking" cost him a four-digit sum in euros, but for Amar it was an investment in art. He shares his ambitious vision with Bild: to enclose the balcony with an illuminated glass display case, turning the Rosso Corsa coupe into a unique exhibition of contemporary automotive art.
Alas, the triumph of the original Viennese was short-lived. Only a week later, the city's building authorities intervened decisively. The official reason for the expulsion of the Ferrari 296 from its high post was related to fire safety. The government intervention caused acute irritation in Dežić, who wondered why other countries adopt such "luxury" parking solutions while Vienna turns out to be so conservative.
