Vehicle traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has reached its highest level since the start of the war. Twenty-two ships passed through on April 4-5, as more countries reach agreements with Iran, Bloomberg reported.
According to the agency, Iranian ships continue to dominate. On April 5, the first tanker carrying Iraqi oil passed through the strait after Iran declared an exception for “brotherly Iraq“. India sent eight tankers carrying liquefied natural gas through the strait. Last week, China-linked container ships and two Japanese-flagged ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz twice, the agency said.
Before the US-Israeli military operation against Iran, traffic reached 135 ships per day.
