OPEC+ countries will compensate for 3.797 million barrels per day of excess oil production - 1

According to the new schedule, OPEC+ countries will compensate monthly between 789,000 and 1.214 million barrels per day of excess oil production from March to June 2026, with Kazakhstan accounting for the majority (619,000 to 879,000 barrels per day). This follows from updated compensation plans received by the OPEC Secretariat from Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan and Oman.

According to the schedule, the compensation was supposed to be 1.214 million barrels per day in March, 789,000 barrels per day in April, 895,000 barrels per day in May and 899,000 barrels per day in June.

According to OPEC documents, only Kazakhstan is obliged to compensate for its previously recognized excess production in April.

Thus, by July 2026, OPEC+ countries that voluntarily reduce production must compensate for 3.797 million barrels per day of excess production.

The oil production ceiling of OPEC+ G8 countries in April, taking into account the new compensation schedule, will increase by 632,000 barrels per day compared to March.
