New fuel price record in the Netherlands - 1

Petrol and diesel prices in the Netherlands have reached record levels again against the backdrop of the global market situation, according to the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the risk of fuel shortages in the country remains. Meanwhile, the average recommended price of Euro95 petrol reached 2.597 EUR per liter, while diesel fuel reached 2.811 EUR, an unprecedented peak. The newspaper notes that the rise in fuel prices is still linked to the US and Israeli military operation against Iran and the accompanying disruptions in energy supply chains.

In late March and early April, against the backdrop of the situation in the Middle East and disruptions to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, fuel prices in Europe began to rise sharply. In the Netherlands, the previous record for gasoline was EUR 2.53 per liter, and for diesel fuel - EUR 2.79. At the beginning of the year, gasoline cost about EUR 2.02 per liter, and diesel - about EUR 1.80. Experts do not rule out a further increase in fuel prices in the country.
