European Commission fines Google €890 million - 1

The European Commission (EC) has imposed a fine of €890 million on Google for breaching EU digital market rules. The European Commission's press service announced this.

The fine was imposed “following an EC investigation which found that Google was giving an unfair advantage to Google services in internet search results“. The EC also accused the company of “artificially limiting developers of applications for Google Play“.

The EC noted that Google has the right to appeal the fine.
