The money for the construction of the "Hemus" highway is stored in a warehouse of a company in Blagoevgrad. This became clear from the comments to bTV by prosecutor Ivaylo Zanev, who was removed before he brought the "Hemus Gate" case to court.
According to him, the indictment for the missing 55 million leva for the highway is 400 pages. The implementation of the construction due to the hidden profit involved will be at the expense of quality, explains Zanev.
He points out that initially these 55 million leva were transferred via bank transfer to shell companies. For one year, they were "set aside" these 55 million leva.
Prosecutor Zanev assured that everything has been done to establish whether state authorities are involved in this embezzlement. However, no such involvement has been established.
He confirmed the authenticity of the indictment published by the Anti-Corruption Fund.
Ivaylo Zanev indicated that he was removed due to bias - he expressed negative attitudes towards Boyko Borisov during the interrogation of Boyko Rashkov in the case of the "Hemus" motorway. However, he denies having spoken out against the former prime minister.
The prosecutor wants to check whether Borislav Sarafov exerted pressure on his removal in the "Hemus Gate" case.
Two of the prosecutors who ordered the termination of the case received career bonuses, it became clear from his comment. A few months earlier, these prosecutors had shared his opinion that a crime had been committed.
"This change in their inner conviction was inexplicable to me," said Prosecutor Zanev. That is why he believes that they were influenced.
