Krum Zarkov: As long as the state is polluted with whether the mafia is ruling us or not, we will not move forward - 1

As long as the state is polluted with whether the mafia is ruling us or not, we will not move forward - not as a society. This was what former Minister of Justice Krum Zarkov told NOVA.

“This whole episode, which began with the elections in Pazardzhik, has gone through several sketches. We will observe how it will develop, because I do not think it is over”, commented Zarkov.

According to him, all parties involved will lose.

“Borisov, who tried to demonstrate power and a few hours later backtracked, loses. They are losing their partners in this government because the BSP rushed to show itself in a humiliating situation, in which it practically said through the mouth of its leaders: “We are ready for anything with everyone”. And we will see if the ITN will also lose, their position is expected today. The silence itself shows that something more significant may come out of it. Peevski himself is also losing, because regardless of how strong they explain how he is, he turns out to be a colossus with feet of clay. Because a man who declared that he wants to rule the entire country, win national elections, etc., turned out that even if he wins a little in the Municipal Council in Pazardzhik, this causes a tremor in the entire country”, Zarkov also commented.

According to him, the Bulgarian people do not want a figure like Peevski to rule them, but instead of the government confronting this problem, it is officially bringing him into their configuration. “This is a very wrong assessment and it will only lead to upheavals, regardless of whether the government gains a few more months of existence or not”, the former minister believes.

He is categorical that there are problems related to people's daily lives that they cannot solve on their own. That is why an organization is needed, "which is called state management”, Zarkov commented.
