The state budget for 2026 must be officially presented by the Ministry of Finance this week. The law obliges the government to submit the budget plan to parliament by October 31. Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has already announced that this deadline will be met.
This is Bulgaria's first budget in euros, so the financial framework must also be reviewed by the European Commission. GERB leader Boyko Borisov said that an increase in pension and salary costs in the public sector is planned. “We Continue Change-Democratic Bulgaria” is against the increase in salaries without reforms, and the MECH group has already announced that it will not support the 2026 Budget.
