The tourism industry is among the most prepared for the adoption of the euro on January 1 next year, Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva said today in Varna to participants in an information event on the introduction of the new currency in Bulgaria, bTA reported.
The meeting was hosted by the regional governor Andriyana Andreeva. The conversation was attended by the Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov, the Deputy Chairperson of the Economic and Social Council Milena Angelova, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy Natalia Efremova, the Chief Treasurer of the Bulgarian National Bank Stefan Tsvetkov, the leader of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions Plamen Dimitrov and Nikolay Gotsev, Head of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Defense.
Our country's entry into the eurozone will help to make Bulgaria even more recognizable as a tourist destination, Georgieva pointed out.
She specified that the industry is among the most prepared for adopting the euro, as it has been working with different currencies for years. He is fully aware of what the adoption of the single currency will bring him, including easier access to investments and greater transparency, faster and more flexible relations with partners in the eurozone, the deputy minister pointed out.
According to her, no one in the tourism sector shares any concerns about what is to come.
As a positive effect of the adoption of the new currency, Georgieva also pointed out that Bulgarians will travel more peacefully, without hidden fees when making payments abroad.
We want to establish Bulgaria as a safe country, with a good image, as a connected destination, we have all the prerequisites for this, the deputy minister of tourism added.
