The State Agency "State Reserve and Wartime Stocks" has sufficient quantities of fuel to satisfy the needs of businesses and citizens for a long period of time. This was commented by the chairman of the agency, Asen Asenov, to BGNES.
He explained that by law the State Reserve must maintain stocks for 90 days, but it should be taken into account that companies also have operational reserves.
According to him, the reported stocks are planned for zero production and imports, so it can be said that the country has sufficient quantities of fuel to satisfy the needs of business and citizens for a long period of time.
Assen Asenov added that the agency carries out monthly control not only in its own bases, but also of the quantities designated for the private sector.
When asked whether an increase in the oil reserve is planned, Asenov said that the State Reserve currently does not have the funds to purchase new quantities, but if the government decides and allocates earmarked funds, the agency is ready to purchase additional ones.
Regarding the American sanctions imposed on "Lukoil" Assen Assenov explained that the agency is in constant contact with the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Transport and the "Customs" Agency, as well as with all private operators.
