"In order to avoid problems with fuel prices in the crisis situation due to sanctions, the government must have a plan, and not to take urgent measures piecemeal, which would create tension. There must be a plan". This was told to the Bulgarian National Radio by Martin Dimitrov, MP from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria".
"This plan must have several components. One is a review of stocks and if any of the traders have not brought in the mandatory stocks, immediately - measures and fines. The second point is to provide fuel not by December, but by the end of winter (the end of March). Thirdly, there must be an overall concept of what the government is doing. Unfortunately, the cabinet is acting spontaneously and unorganized with piecemeal measures.
Dimitrov stressed that if it is necessary to appoint a special manager for "Lukoil-Bulgaria", the government must have taken the preliminary steps for this, including determining a circle of persons who can be a special manager. And he pointed out that this is a last resort measure, after the possibility of admitting investor interest has already been exhausted.
Martin Dimitrov also commented on the topic of Budget 2026: "We are walking on a dangerous inclined plane. One danger is raising social security contributions by 10%, which will burden an average family with paying 100 leva more each month. The other is increasing the "dividend" tax from 5% to 10%, which will hit investment-minded people. The third dangerous thing is the very large increase in the maximum social security income. There are risks that Bulgaria will enter a Romanian or Greek scenario".
