No government has ever allowed itself such a racket and attack on Bulgarian citizens. An absolute precedent that the Ministry of Finance is silent and does not come out to defend it. This was stated by the leader of the People's Party Asen Vassilev during a press conference on the occasion of Budget 2026.
"Money is being taken from businesses and citizens, and this will lead to a revenue of 56.6 billion leva. The state will take 600 leva from each company and each worker - directly from their pockets. What will happen is that salaries will not increase, because his employer will not have the means to raise his salary. The other thing that will happen is that all companies will withdraw their money and it will be taxed as a dividend. This is detrimental to the economy. We have been through crises - Covid, the war in Ukraine and taxes have not been touched. This is robbery", explained Vassilev.
We see what the state is - racketeering of Bulgarian citizens and robbery of business, he explained and added that some money is being allocated as a priority, he also said.
Vassilev called on the Ministry of Finance to come out and explain this budget, and not to hide in the shadows or to rework it and submit it to the Council of Ministers.
