Today the parliament adopted amendments to the Law on the Administrative Regulation of Economic Activities Related to Oil and Products of Petroleum Origin.
In human terms - today the deputies in the National Assembly did what was necessary and right so that Bulgaria would not be left without gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel.
This was necessary because the US imposed sanctions against the two largest Russian oil companies, one of which is “Lukoil“, which in turn owns the oil refinery in Burgas. It produces fuels not only for Bulgaria, but also for all Balkan countries.
Therefore, I cannot understand the illogical howling of some people against this law. The truth is that today the opposition was working directly against all Bulgarian citizens. Because if this law had not been passed, in fifteen days we would have woken up with empty gas stations.
And who would then be to blame? PP–DB? „Vazrazhdane“? The other opposition parties?
This is a crisis that appeared suddenly, caused by US sanctions, and that is why today the ruling minority did the only right thing – protected the interests of Bulgarians.
I know that everyone can say whatever they want, I know that everyone can lie however they want - with complete impunity, - but the truth is this. And the truth is this: this was the right move for all of us who live on the territory of our country.
Because over 60% of our fuel comes from the refinery in Burgas. And everything, absolutely everything, had to be done to protect the peace of the Bulgarians.
I would call it “nationally responsible“, but it's a stupid cliché - and that's why I'll keep quiet.
I'll just say it once again that it's right. Absolutely right. Point blank!
