On Sunday morning, delegations of "Vazrazhdane" and the People's Republic of China held a meeting in the building of the National Assembly.
The delegation of “Vazrazhdane” was led by Kostadin Kostadinov - chairman of the party, and the delegation of the People's Republic of China by H.E. Xiao Jie - Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).
At the beginning of the conversation, both sides extended greetings to each other, recognizing the importance of the high-level meeting for maintaining Bulgarian-Chinese relations.
As a historian, Kostadin Kostadinov, in his welcoming speech, recalled the distant historical connection between the Chinese and Bulgarian people. And the responsibility they have today towards the future, China, which is not only a state but also a civilization, and the oldest country in Europe, Bulgaria. He expressed a desire to deepen the bilateral ties between the “Vazrazhdane” and the Chinese Communist Party for the benefit of the Chinese and Bulgarian people.
For his part, H.E. Mr. Xiao Jie also extended a greeting. He confirmed that Bulgaria and China are connected by deep friendship and cooperation as part of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, which provides opportunities for cooperation in every sphere. Mr. Xiao Jie confirmed China’s readiness to work with Bulgaria and the world.
The conversation discussed various sectors with potential for cooperation.
