US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "is not ready" to sign the peace proposal prepared by the US, which aims to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Associated Press reported.
Trump criticized Zelensky after US and Ukrainian negotiators on Saturday concluded three days of talks aimed at narrowing differences over the US administration's proposal. But last night, in a conversation with journalists, Trump hinted that the Ukrainian president is hindering the progress of the negotiations.
"I'm a little disappointed that President Zelensky has not yet read the proposal, which was ready a few hours ago. "His people like him, but he hasn't read it," Trump told reporters before attending the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors. "Russia, I think, agrees with him, but I'm not sure Zelensky agrees. His people like him. But he's not ready," Trump added.
