Zhelyazkov: Democracy requires us to hear different opinions, even when we don't like them - 1

„Democracy requires the ability to hear different opinions, even when we don't like them, because this is how the choice that Bulgaria made more than three decades ago - the path of a democratic legal system - is preserved.“ This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at the beginning of today's government meeting.

The Prime Minister stressed that it was important for the entire cabinet to attend the debates on the vote of no confidence, since all motives - justified or not - must be heard in order to properly address the analyses, conclusions and policies, the government press center reports.

The Prime Minister said that the government came with a clear intention to build on the achievements of previous administrations, so that the next ones can build on what has been done. The Prime Minister pointed out that the cabinet hears the voices of both young people and older generations on how to make Bulgaria a better place to live.

Rosen Zhelyazkov appealed for the protests to be calm and peaceful, reminding that the exercise of civil rights involves respecting the rights of everyone - both protesters and police officers and any other group, regardless of political differences.
