I think that the election results will be quite different, because in such situations, usually no one wins and the result is mostly fragmented parliaments. This was stated on Nova News by the executive director of „Gallup” Petko Petkov on the occasion of the resignation of Rosen Zhelyazkov's government today, quoted by novini.bg.
According to him, it is not ruled out that the parties are deliberately delaying the procedure for announcing the composition of the Council of Ministers in order to try to vote on the draft budget for 2026. The sociologist believes that it would be better for the state to enter the new year with a regular budget than with an extension law, but he doubts that such a law will be adopted, given the tension between the different political formations.
I don't see any consensus on Budget 2026. The people in this parliament are not at the level they should be, and they don't realize at all that this is the most important law in the state, Petkov said.
He predicts that if a new budget is not adopted, things in our country will not go in a good direction and may even get worse, highlighting the “fragile“ our financial and economic system, especially in such a key period as the adoption of the euro.
Regarding Delyan Peevski's behavior, the sociologist commented that all Bulgarian politicians, not just Peevski, use extremely harsh language, which repels people and provokes their anger.
„DPS-New Beginning has its supporters, it's all a matter of strategy. The problem is that the relations between the leaders are not good – they have to have a dialogue with each other, even if they don't like each other. And this aggression between politicians leads to aggression in society as well“, Petkov pointed out.
When asked who he thinks will be appointed as the acting prime minister from the “home book“ Petkov replied that this would most likely be Raya Nazaryan.
Regarding President Rumen Radev's request to enter the country's party life, Petko Petkov expressed skepticism that his chances are as great as he is being “given”.
