This does not require a decision by the deputies, but by the Council of Ministers, since the budget plan has not passed the first reading in parliament.
Despite the lack of a budget, the minimum wage in the private sector will be 620 euros and 20 euro cents.
This is possible because there is a decree of the Council of Ministers to this effect. For the public sector, the increase will only come into effect when the new budget is adopted.
Of the ruling majority, only the "BSP-United Left" announced their support for the adoption of the revised version of the 2026 budget.
Due to the situation, the unions protested in front of parliament on Friday, demanding the adoption of the 2026 budget plan.
