The President to "DPS - New Beginning": Are changes needed in the Electoral Code and how do they see the implementation of a new financial framework?

You are not part of the ruling coalition, but you have always expressed your support and supported this government with the clear position that there should not be elections soon, that Bulgaria must have a stable and long-term government with a full mandate, so that it can implement important policies for the country. This is how President Rumen Radev addressed the representatives of the PG of "DPS - New Beginning" at the next round of consultations in the presidential institution.

"You are in the depth of these processes that are taking place in the Bulgarian parliament and in our society and in this regard, do you intend to continue this thesis of yours and seek to continue the life of the 51st National Assembly, albeit in a different management configuration, or do you already think that we must definitely go to early parliamentary elections?", asked the head of state.

He also asked another question - are changes needed in the Electoral Code in order to have more trust from the people and more measures for honesty and transparency in these elections.

The President also asked about the extension law on the budget, how they see the implementation of this law in a new financial framework that is coming for the country.

Yordan Tsonev, "DPS - New Beginning": "We supported this government with the clear awareness that the political crisis of the last 4-5 years it must find its solution. Given the important events that were ahead for the country - the introduction of the euro as a single currency in Bulgaria, the exit from the financial imbalances in which the country was, the geopolitical situation, which with this war is not at all favorable for Europe and for us in particular. This was our understanding when supporting this cabinet."

Tsonev emphasized that they supported the government for policies and did not participate in the government with posts.
