Sacheva: Without any budget, everyone will feel the chaos on January 2nd - 1

We are firmly determined that Bulgaria will enter 2026 with an adopted budget - extension or the one that is regular. This was stated by Denitsa Sacheva, deputy chairwoman of the GERB-SDF parliamentary group, emphasizing that the regular budget for 2026 has not been withdrawn and is in the Secretariat of the Parliament, has passed through committees and can be subject to a first vote if the political parties unite around it at the Council of Presidents, which is still there tomorrow, Wednesday, BNR reported.

"Without any budget, everyone will feel the chaos on January 2nd. And since we see that we do not have a constructive opposition against us, but people whose behavior and vocabulary characterize them more as a hooligan group, we are frantically trying to save as much as some common sense and common sense remains", she commented.

In her words, GERB is in favor of adopting the regular budget, because it is better than the extension budget and is better for the people, the municipalities and the business:

"But since the opposition unanimously wants an extension, we are ready for an extension. It depends on which version of the budget will receive greater support. ... The colleagues from "There is such a people" also share our position that we cannot enter the eurozone without a budget, and are ready to support both the regular and the extension. The BSP is firmly in favor of the regular budget and against the extension. I have no communication with DPS-New Beginning on the budget issue, but I am convinced that they would make a decision that is reasonable and receives maximum political support".

Forming the governing coalition was a more difficult decision than resigning, Sacheva pointed out.

The Electoral Code will be worked on in January, she believes, and specified that GERB is skeptical that changes should be made immediately before the elections.

"This is not at all the most important topic facing society at this moment. ... We are constantly engaging the public with topics that seem to be more important to politicians.

For GERB, it does not matter when the snap elections will be held, she was categorical.

According to her, the GERB party does not need a change of leader because they have a "good amalgam of a good leader and a good team".

We are not afraid of any leader who would come to the party field, she also said and added: "GERB has its feet firmly on the ground and cannot be afraid of someone who mainly flies in the clouds".

Sacheva emphasized that the institutions responsible for controlling prices upon entering the eurozone will continue to work, despite the fact that the government has resigned.
