Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov: I am skeptical that without some change in the leadership, the BSP will find a place in the next National Assembly - 1

The political parties are already in an election campaign, it is clear that we are going to early elections.

This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist and university lecturer Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov and added that some of the arguments they put forward during the consultations with the president are related to the upcoming vote.

According to him, Deputy Ombudsman Maria Filipova is the most likely acting Prime Minister.

We are in for an election campaign saturated with black PR, he predicted:

"No I expect that the MRF-NN will change its strategy and tactics. What we saw in the previous campaign - with the activation of the prosecutor's office, with various compromising materials - this is entirely in the tone followed by the leadership of the MRF-NN and I do not expect any surprises from there during this election campaign".

A consensus on changing the electoral legislation will not be reached, the political scientist believes.

According to Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov, if President Rumen Radev does not come out with his own party project in the upcoming elections, "then there may not be such a chance".

There are no other figures on the horizon who can channel any additional energy based on the protests, he pointed out and specified that sociological surveys show that the PP-DB is on the electoral rise:

"If there are no other players on the political terrain, they will probably be the formation that will capitalize to the greatest extent electorally in the next elections the protest wave. To what limits and ceiling - I cannot say that".

I expect voter turnout within the limits of about 3.5 million people, Milen Lyubenov said.

According to the political scientist, the resignation of the BSP Executive Bureau is an attempt to save the party, because after its participation in the ruling coalition with GERB-SDF and ITN, it is on the verge of the electoral barrier, according to sociological surveys:

"I am skeptical that without some change in the leadership, the BSP will find a place in the next National Assembly".
