For the third day, Head of State Rumen Radev is holding meetings with representatives of the parliamentary groups, before the procedure for handing over mandates to form a government. After consultations earlier today with "BSP-United Left" The deputies from "There is such a people" are already with him, Dariknews.bg reports.
On behalf of the formation, the chairman of the parliamentary group Toshko Yordanov, as well as MPs Stanislav Balabanov, Dragomir Petrov, Pavela Mitova and Alexander Valchev came to the meeting.
The outgoing government is obliged by the Constitution to ensure continuity and stability until a caretaker cabinet takes office, President Radev told the representatives of the ITN.
"I am fully aware of the fact that the Bulgarian parliament is currently a much more interesting place than consultations, so I truly appreciate the fact that you are here. In a complex position, since you are a government in resignation and as such you are obliged by the Constitution to ensure continuity and stability of the government until the commencement of the performance of your duties as a caretaker government, if we get there, and at the same time you are thinking and working on your next political position", said Rumen Radev.
The head of state asked the representatives of the ITN whether they have a desire to reformat the government within the framework of the 51st National Assembly or are we going to early parliamentary elections, about the Electoral Code, whether they will accept 100% machine voting with a control count of the receipts, as well as whether there should be an adopted budget or an extension law.
"Do you think there are other critically important laws that this National Assembly should adopt, and whether it will succeed, because we see that the working atmosphere is deteriorating sharply", the state also asked chapter.
"Today, the parliament will vote, hopefully in two readings, only on the extension budget", pointed out Toshko Yordanov from ITN and added: "What we did as a parliamentary group, voting as an item to include the old budget, was to make it clear to all Bulgarian citizens who are against it, because the PP-DB, using the people's protest, began to evade responsibility, since the state, entering with an extension budget, naturally has problems. This budget was defeated by the PP-DB and today we simply wanted to make it clear who is against".
Regarding the configurations in the parliament and whether a change is needed, he stated that in this political situation it is not reasonable to seek a new reconfiguration.
"As for a new configuration... one does not need to make unfounded statements. Apparently, in this configuration that the parliament is currently in, in this political situation that has arisen at the moment, it is not reasonable to seek a new reconfiguration," added Yordanov.
The chairman of the ITN PG also warned that a transition from lev to euro without a government and without a budget has its risks.
"And perhaps the consequences, whatever they may be, will be on those who failed the government, demanding its resignation and the budget. Of course, the government in resignation will work, but let's pretend that the entire country does not enter a slight pause when there is no regular government, this is also a fact. We would support any useful law in this outgoing parliament," added Yordanov.
