When you resign, you take responsibility - one was to the state and the citizens, the other was to the members of the BSP. The mandate holder was GERB. After the huge protest, it became clear that it was for trust in the parliament and the way the state is organized. We saw that these protests were directed more towards the Bulgarian parliament and less towards the government. This was stated by the outgoing Minister of Environment and Waters, Manol Genov, in the program “From the Day” on BNT.
The mandate holder was GERB and we had two options - either to accept their decision or not to accept it. Anyone who does not listen to the voice of the citizens after these protests would make a fatal mistake. It was also a fatal mistake for some of the political forces who wanted to attribute this protest to themselves. Everyone was pointed at – the entire parliament, which has 5% trust, he explained.
Genov cited an analysis by Ivan Kostov. Let's see in the early elections what will be constructive from this protest. It was right to resign. Let's see what the PP-DB offers.
The protest was against the budget. There was a confrontation of the work of one group of people against the work of another. It reached an open incitement, said the Minister of Environment and Waters.
According to him, in the state administration, bonuses are realized from the vacant positions and from sick leave. Then savings are realized and distributed. Manol Genov also said that his eyes watered when he signed a contract with a young specialist whose salary was 1,400 leva.
The BSP entered the government with the idea of stability and the implementation of a number of projects. There are many things that could not be done. We were a minority government. We did not seek support, but we received it. The BSP had as much weight as it deserved with 20 MPs. Let us not imagine that when the BSP bent over to disappear, it did so in order to tie its shoes for a new start, as athletes do, Genov emphasized.
