The caretaker government should have one single task - to organize fair elections, and not to make long-term commitments for the state. This was stated this morning by the MP from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) Elisaveta Belobradova on BNT.

"The president should not make gestures - this is not his job. "He must appoint a possible caretaker government that will not do any mischief, that will be entirely and solely a caretaker government - that will not conclude contracts with which Bulgaria will assume obligations worth billions," Belobradova was categorical in the program "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov."

The MP also commented on the mechanism for selecting a caretaker prime minister, known as the "house book." According to her, anyone who holds a high state position included in the list of potential prime ministers must be prepared to take responsibility.

"Anyone who has taken the relevant position in the so-called "house book" must be willing to become the acting prime minister if nominated," explained Belobradova, adding that a possible refusal would raise suspicions of dependencies.

The main political risk she outlined is related to Delyan Peevski's influence on the people on the list.

"The big question is how many people from the "house book" Delyan Peevski holds. The big challenge before the president is for him to nominate the one who has the least or no dependencies on Peevski," the MP emphasized.

Elisaveta Belobradova indicated that the main priority for the new political season is to restore trust in the electoral process. According to her, citizens are demanding guarantees against bought votes.

"The electoral code after the parliamentary recess - this will be the hot topic. This will be the most important thing, as citizens have unequivocally said that they want changes to the Electoral Code to guarantee fair and transparent elections," she said.

The PP-DB is demanding the return of full machine voting as a barrier against manipulation.

"We must vote fully by machine to guarantee fair elections," concluded Belobradova. She also emphasized the need for a right-wing budget and deep reforms in the state administration.
