The offer of 8,000 leva New Year's package in Velingrad is great news for Bulgarian tourism. This was commented on the show “Crossroads” on Nova TV by Poli Karastoyanova, executive director of the National Tourism Board.
“This means only one thing - that there are tourists, Bulgarian or foreign, who find it wonderful to spend this money precisely in Bulgaria, precisely there. They like the place, they like the hotel, they like the food, the music. Everything that the hosts offer them is more than the value, the cost price of the package,” commented Karastoyanova.
She noted that we are sending the most successful year for Bulgarian tourism. “The figures are unambiguous - over 13 million visitors, over 14 billion leva in tourism revenue”, Karastoyanova pointed out. According to her, the growth is over 5-6%.
She noted that there is a sustainable policy in the sector. “Literally a few days ago, the National Tourism Council, in which all representative tourism organizations participate, gave the highest possible assessment of the work of Minister Borshosh”, Karastoyanova said.

Karastoyanova explained that the winter resorts - Pamporovo, Bansko and Borovets, are fully booked.

Poli Karastoyanova explained that traditionally among Bulgarian tourists Thessaloniki and Istanbul are very preferred. In recent years, there has been increased interest in the countries of the Persian Gulf - Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, as well as in the east - Vietnam, China, Thailand.
„And we can end with one crown in this regard - the Caribbean. Cruises are becoming increasingly popular and the Caribbean group of islands offers between one and two weeks of great conditions,” Karastoyanova explained.
