Our country has offered supplies of fuel oil to the Republic of North Macedonia - 1

By order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov inspected the stocks of fuel oil in Bulgaria. The inspection established that there are sufficient quantities of fuel oil on the territory of the country for the needs of our country.

Based on the established sufficient quantities, the Bulgarian government has offered the Republic of North Macedonia urgent supplies of boiler fuel (fuel oil) in order to assist the country in the conditions of the state of emergency declared yesterday. This was reported by the government's press center.

At the order of Prime Minister Zhelyazkov, the proposal was made during a telephone conversation between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev and his counterpart from the Republic of North Macedonia Timcho Mucunski. The Bulgarian side expressed its readiness to assist in providing the necessary quantities, subject to technical and logistical capabilities.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that the provision of assistance is an expression of good neighborliness and solidarity and is aimed at ensuring energy security and stability in the region.

Bulgaria's proposal was made after the government of the Republic of North Macedonia declared a state of emergency in the country last night, caused by difficulties in the supply of energy carriers. The reason for the situation is the blockade of the border crossings with the Republic of Greece by Greek farmers, which impedes the import of fuels and raw materials.
