Protests in defense of the lev were held in several cities in our country. This evening in Burgas, opponents of the euro organized themselves on social networks and gathered in the square in front of the municipality in the seaside town, reported "Nova TV".
Their position is that Bulgaria should keep the lev as a payment unit and now is not the time for our country to adopt the single currency. According to the dissatisfied, such a decision should be made only after a national referendum.
„The lev is above everything. The lev is even the king of animals. If we enter the jungle, can you buy a piece of lion meat with any currency?”, commented Toma Atanasov. „We should not enter the eurozone now, because it is sinking. France is on the verge of surrender, Germany is in recession, why do we need to enter now?”, asked Stanka Kandulova.
Protesters also gathered in the center of Sofia.
