The Mayor of Sofia returned a decision to the Municipal Council for the sale of municipal land - 1

The Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev returned for new discussion a decision adopted by the Sofia Municipal Council on December 18, which gives consent to the sale through a publicly announced competition of municipal land in "Dianabad", in the "Izgrev" district, in exchange for an obligation to build a new administrative building for the district administration at another location. This was announced by the press center of the Sofia Municipality, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

They point out that the decision was returned due to serious legal grounds related to the manner in which municipal property is planned to be disposed of, as well as because of the economic disadvantage of the proposed compensation for the Sofia Municipality municipality.

According to Mayor Terziev, this is a deal that does not meet legal requirements and creates a risk that the municipality will lose a valuable resource.

According to available estimates, the value of the planned administrative building that the district should receive in return does not exceed 4 million leva, while the market value of the municipal land in the “Dianabad“ area is between 10 and over 15 million leva, the municipality's announcement also states. The decision was made despite the official negative opinion on legality of the deputy mayor for finance, which the mayor supports.

The submitter of the report on the sale of four land properties intended for residential construction with a total initial competitive price of 7 million leva is the mayor of the “Izgrev” district; Delyan Georgiev.
