Raya Nazaryan: GERB is not afraid of a new political project, including one related to President Rumen Radev - 1

The Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan from GERB stated that a possible decision by President Rumen Radev to create a political project is his right and part of the normal democratic process. GERB is not afraid of a new political project, including one related to President Rumen Radev, wrote news.bg.

"This is his prerogative. If he decides to announce such a decision - in one direction or the other - he will do it and then we will comment on it," Nazaryan pointed out. According to her, there is nothing worrying about the emergence of new political formations. "Let them stay and develop. This is democracy - everyone can participate", she added.

When asked whether such a move would mean that the president has not been independent so far, Nazaryan stressed that whatever decision the head of state makes, he will bear personal responsibility for it. "Whatever it is, he has the right to do it and bear responsibility", the speaker of parliament said.

Raya Nazaryan was categorical that GERB is not afraid of a possible new political project, including one related to the president. "There is no fear - neither of him, nor of anyone else. This is the normal political situation - to have projects with ideas, to win convictions with arguments", she emphasized.

When asked directly whether GERB is worried about such a development, Nazaryan replied that there is no reason for such concerns and called for the topic to be commented on when there is a clear and official decision.

There will be one more party, and two will probably drop out of the political scene. This was stated by GERB MP Branimir Balachev before the start of the meeting of the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs in the National Assembly.

According to him, the development of political processes is not expected to have fatal consequences, including for GERB. "I do not think that there will be any special negative impact on us", commented Balachev.

In response to a question whether this is a party associated with President Rumen Radev, he pointed out that at the moment the head of state can afford to speak freely. "As president, he can say anything. But if he decides to actively enter politics, he will have to occupy a clear space in the political spectrum and then we will see where he will position himself", the MP also said.

When asked which formations are in danger of dropping out, Balachev specified that he was talking about the last two.
