If Rumen Radev appears on the political scene, then we will measure his electoral potential. Only then will we be able to analyze and make comments, rather than now in this trepidation and expectation.
This was stated in the program "The Day Live" on NOVA NEWS by the executive director of "Gallup" Petko Petkov, who commented on the upcoming address by President Rumen Radev.
"I do not think that Radev has taken an example from Georgi Parvanov. In my opinion, he will enter the political arena and understand that there is a difference between the rating of the president and that of a politician. Bulgarian society would not give power to anyone at the moment, including Radev. He will seek and play for some reformatting of the system such as a presidential republic, which for me is a closed page. Radev's statements will also be populist, like - here I come and I will fight bad politicians. These are all things that are already worn out. We need to lower our passions and speak a little more realistically", he added.
"The function of the caretaker government is to organize fair elections. We should not look so much at the figures of the ministers in the caretaker cabinet. For me, Iliyana Yotova will not resign, because this will lead to an upheaval and 2-in-1 elections - parliamentary and presidential. I do not think that we are ready for this at the moment. Yotova's resignation is in the realm of hypotheses and for me things will develop much more calmly and as expected. In my opinion, we need more adequate messages from politicians so that many more people can go to the polls and vote", concluded Petko Petkov.
