Prof. Kolarova: By entering politics, Rumen Radev will "eat up" the electorate of all protest parties - 1

It is clear that by entering politics, Rumen Radev will "eat up" the electorate of all protest parties; of all parties that were against the status quo, including ITN and BSP. PP-DB and "Vazrazhdane" will also suffer electoral damage. This was stated in an interview with NOVA NEWS by political scientist Prof. Rumyana Kolarova.

She added that from now on Radev will have to start expressing a clear and specific position on certain political topics, and not “sit on two chairs“, as was the case during his presidential mandate during these nine years.

“As president, he could be “one way or the other“, between East and West, but now he will have to defend very clear and specific positions”, said Prof. Kolarova.

Regarding President Trump's invitation to Radev to join the Peace Council, Kolarova believes that Bulgaria should adhere to the pan-European position in this case, which is a mass refusal.

I do not think that Bulgaria should differentiate itself from the position of other European countries. Trump is a Europhobe who aims to break up the EU, she noted.

On the topic of changes to the Electoral Code, Kolarova said that she is skeptical of the idea of introducing scanning machines into the electoral process.

“My reading of this entire saga is reduced to business interest. Buying these machines is a very profitable deal for the company that makes them. I think it would be more correct to have regional counting centers instead of sectional commissions, so that the ballots can go there, the political scientist concluded.
