The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria states that the official correspondence from the administration of US President Donald Trump was received according to the established diplomatic procedure and that the corresponding diplomatic telegram was sent to the presidential institution of the Republic of Bulgaria as early as Monday (January 19).
Any statements that cast doubt on this are false and the MFA is obliged to refute them publicly. Speculation and false information implicate and cast doubt on the professionalism of Bulgarian diplomats and the administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The MFA maintains a permanent institutional dialogue with all state bodies – the Presidency, the Council of Ministers and parliamentary committees – for foreign policy coordination and compliance with constitutional powers.
In order to protect the professionalism of the Bulgarian diplomatic service and the administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we are also sending part of the document that objectively presents the above-mentioned facts.
Earlier, Rumen Radev's administration stated that the invitation to the President of Bulgaria to participate in the Peace Council was received by the presidential institution yesterday - January 20.
