President Rumen Radev, who resigned on Monday, thanked everyone who supported him and Vice President Iliana Yotova over the past 9 years.
„In 2025, the citizens of Bulgaria declared an irreconcilable will for change. They did so, guided by the conviction that Bulgarians deserve a decent life, justice, transparent institutions and politicians who hear the voice of the people. Let us preserve this will and turn it into action! We are ready, we can and we will succeed!“, he wrote on Facebook.
This is his first address to the public after the head of state announced on Monday that he was resigning from his post.
The Constitutional Court will sit in the case for the resignation of President Rumen Radev on Friday. The session will be at 10 a.m., and the rapporteur is the president of the court - Pavlina Panova.
What is different about this case is that opinions are not being requested here. The expectations are that a decision will be made the same day.
