Bojanov on our membership in Trump's Peace Council: Wrong and dangerous decision. Bulgaria is becoming a Trojan horse in the EU

Today, the outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has joined Bulgaria to Donald Trump's Peace Council. We believe that this is a wrong and dangerous decision by the government, which has already lost its legitimacy to make such decisions.
This was stated at a briefing by the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" and MP from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bojanov, who commented on today's accession of Bulgaria to the Peace Council of US President Donald Trump, quoted by novini.bg.
"This is not just a decision. This is a breakthrough against the common policy of the European Union. Tonight there is a summit of EU leaders, where this topic will also be discussed. The fact that Bulgaria is becoming another Trojan horse and standing together with Viktor Orban, the only other European country there, is very worrying. The other countries in this Council are Belarus and those with authoritarian regimes. Bulgaria has no place there. We should have waited for the issue to be discussed and for the EU to have a common position. Bulgaria's place is at the heart of Europe. Europe must make its decisions together and not be penetrated through weak countries. Unfortunately, Bulgaria is currently taking such a position. This Peace Council is not just Gaza. This government cannot make such decisions," he added.

"This action by the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister contradicts several constitutional rules and regulations. All EU countries, before taking external solo actions, must consult them within the union and find a common position. This Peace Council aims to undermine the prestige of international law and render the UN meaningless. The Constitution requires that if Bulgaria joins international organizations, this should be done after consultations and ratification of the treaty by parliament. None of these things happened before Rosen Zhelyazkov announced that we are already part of this Council. The Prime Minister of Italy announced that his country will not join due to contradictions with the Constitution. Unfortunately, the Bulgarian government did not raise this issue. This is an indication of the difficult state in which this government is in resignation", said Atanas Slavov for his part.
"Our Prime Minister went to have his picture taken at this Council - just like Petko with the men. The two countries in this EU Council are the two poorest countries - Bulgaria and Hungary. President Radev is not taking any action on this occasion. Boyko Borisov and his government did it at the request of Delyan Peevski. Bulgaria is once again becoming a Trojan horse in the EU.", announced Ivaylo Mirchev.
"We expect this attack on the Electoral Code to be stopped. No last-minute amendments can repair the attempts to disrupt the elections. The result is another destruction of the electoral process. If the point about the Electoral Code is proposed again, we will continue to stop the introduction of these scanners by all possible means,", Bozanov commented on the topic of changes to the Electoral Code.
