“Bonus-malus“ for “Civil Liability“ of drivers is postponed again. The system that encourages those who are good on the road cannot start from February 1, warns both the state and insurers.

Currently, each insurer has an internal “bonus-malus“ system, and for the national one to work, the data must be collected in the Guarantee Fund.

„The Guarantee Fund is technically ready to start providing these services to insurers, once the procedure and conditions under which this will be done are regulated,“ they explain from there.

Normative regulations are still missing, and the Financial Supervision Commission told bTV that work is underway on their preparation and that the measure will come into force in the summer at the earliest.

The price of a “Third Party Liability“ insurance policy for a year is about 150 euros.

If the “bonus-malus“ system is introduced, the price for drivers without violations could be up to three steps cheaper, and for those with accidents up to 5 steps more expensive.

The Association of Insurers said that each of them will develop its own rules.

Insurance brokers, for their part, warn that the condition of getting a discount or being fined depends on the history of the car, not the driver.

“It would be best for anyone who has a license and has to drive a car to have personal “Civil Liability“ insurance. "This does not mean that every family will pay 120 euros," explained insurance broker Anelia Angelova.

In our country, the mandatory policy is about 150 euros per year, and in Europe - about 150 euros per month.
