On January 27 (Tuesday), President Iliyana Ioltova will hold a meeting with the Speaker of the 51st National Assembly Raya Nazaryan, the press service of the presidency announced, quoted by Dariknews.bg. The conversation is in accordance with Art. 99, para. 5 of the Constitution in connection with the procedure for appointing an acting prime minister from the circle of persons specified in the Basic Law.
As of January 23, the current Vice President Iliyana Ioltova is already the new president of the country, after the Constitutional Court decided that the powers of Rumen Radev are terminated early due to his resignation. Yotova is the first woman in the history of Bulgaria to hold the position of president.
