The cause of the fire in the village of Lipnitsa, in which two one-year-old twins died, was improper handling of a solid fuel stove and a self-ignited chimney, bTV reported.
According to initial data, the fire started in the chimney, but it is not ruled out that it was provoked by a short circuit in the electrical installation.
The one-year-old twins died in a fire in their home while they were with their nanny – Margarita.
She calls for help. In the meantime, she goes in to save the children. She takes one out, but it is later understood that she has suffocated. The grandfather, who lives in the summer kitchen, also comes to help – Bagryan.
“When I ran away and went there, they were taking one child out. We tried to get in for the other child, but it was impossible. Fire, it was falling from above, a lot of smoke, you can't find the door, we did it with our hands, so we could find it and turn around in the corridor, but it was impossible“, he recalls.
The family has three more children, but they live with their grandfather in neighboring buildings. The father works in Germany, from where he is expected to return today. The parents are separated.
Social services have also been notified of the case. The investigation into the causes continues.
It remains to be determined exactly how long the children were left unattended.
