The future caretaker prime minister must be a neutral figure - not have a criminal record and not be in a conflict of interest. This was stated in “This Morning“ on bTV by political analyst Tatyana Burudzhieva. According to her, if the deputy governor of the BNB Andrey Gyurov is elected - the decision will hardly be attacked in the Constitutional Court.
Her colleagues - Stoycho Stoychev and Teodor Slavev - are of the same opinion. They explained that if the higher magistrates are consulted, the term of office will expire before it is time for them to make a decision.
„The news is that we have avoided a constitutional crisis, because we already have at least one who agreed to take on this role and functions, because there was a hypothesis that everyone would refuse. We have to wait for the casting to end to see if there will be other candidates. Ultimately, the president chooses, but for me, Mr. Glavchev has shown that there are doubts about his ability to organize elections, he is not neutral“, said Slavev.
Stoycho Stoychev stated that he expects the other candidates to remain neutral on the topic, so that they do not find themselves in a situation where they have expressed a desire for the position and are not elected. Teodor Slavev expressed the opinion that the Anti-Corruption Commission is being closed down in a hurry so that it will not be used in the elections.
„For the last 17-18 years, this is another commission, with another specialized legislation to combat corruption, reaching the previous unambiguous result - to be dissolved in order to make room for the previous new project“, said Stoychev.
„I have no doubt that all the files that they, the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have collected in various proceedings - already have certain circles. The question is to what extent the legislation allows them to be used with weight in a court process. I expect this campaign to be quite dirty, including compromising material to come out“, pointed out Slavev.
According to him, the former president Rumen Radev has a chance to be the first political force. Burudzhieva stated that Radev, through his caretaker governments, has already participated in governance and does not believe that he will bring real change to the governance model.
