In search of a caretaker prime minister: Iliana Yotova met the Ombudsman at "Dondukov" 2  - 1

Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva arrived at “Dondukov“ 2 for a meeting with President Iliana Yotova within the framework of the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker government, dariknews.bg reports. Yotova met her at the entrance to the presidential institution. The meeting between the two will be closed. The Ombudsman is one of the possible candidates for acting prime minister, listed in the Constitution.

A meeting between President Yotova and Deputy Ombudsman Maria Filipova is scheduled for 2 p.m. today.

On Friday (January 30), President Yotova is also scheduled to meet with the Chairman of the Court of Accounts Dimitar Glavchev and his deputies Margarita Nikolova and Silvia Kadreva.
According to Article 99, paragraph 5 of the Constitution, after no agreement has been reached on the formation of a government, the President, after consultations with the parliamentary groups and upon the proposal of the candidate for acting prime minister, appoints an acting government and schedules new elections within two months.

The President may choose as acting prime minister from among the following heads of institutions - the Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan; the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Dimitar Radev or a Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank – Andrey Gyurov, Petar Chobanov, Radoslav Milenkov; the Chairman of the Court of Accounts Dimitar Glavchev or a Deputy Chairman of the Court of Accounts – Margarita Nikolova, Silvia Kadreva; the Ombudsman or his deputy – Velislava Delcheva, Maria Filipova, respectively.
