The parliament adopted on first reading the bill amending the Electoral Code, submitted by “Vazrazhdane“. The item was put on the agenda for extraordinary consideration.

The bill provides for up to 20 polling stations outside diplomatic missions in countries outside the EU. It was also adopted yesterday at a meeting of the Legal Committee. However, the deputies rejected the bill submitted by PP-DB. On Wednesday, both were considered by the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs in the National Assembly.

After the first reading in the plenary hall, the parliamentary groups are expected to work on the proposals and correct the texts before the final vote.

We recall that the Legal Committee also rejected the PP-DB bill to fully restore the functionality of the current voting machines. They proposed that the result be counted automatically, a protocol be printed from the machine, as well as a 100% control count of the machine receipts.

On the sidelines of the parliament, the leader of “Vazrazhdane“ Kostadin Kostadinov expressed serious concerns about the delay in the elections in Bulgaria and the lack of a caretaker government. “It is obvious that the elections will not take place on March 29, which is already starting to become extremely worrying. "There is already talk of April 26, why not May or June, or just wait for the presidential elections so as not to spend money? Justifications for this absurd hypothesis will be found immediately, right? What is happening is not normal," he said.
