The condition of the asphalt pavement on Vladimir Vazov Blvd. raises serious concerns even at this early stage of operation. A large number of longitudinal and transverse joints are clearly observed, which are not evenly filled and create prerequisites for unevenness of the surface.

This is a clear indicator of staged laying without sufficient control over the connection between the individual asphalt strips. Such a practice leads to accelerated water penetration, subsequent destruction of the pavement and rapid loss of operational characteristics, especially in winter conditions and heavy traffic.
The horizontal road markings, laid in December, further highlight the problems - they are already showing signs of wear and lack of adequate adhesion to the pavement.
This calls into question both the quality of the materials used and the choice of the technological moment for its application, under unfavorable temperature and humidity conditions.
Is this what the people of Sofia deserve after months of inconvenience due to the construction of the metro?
