President Iliana Yotova received representatives of the PP-DB for talks on "Dondukov 2". The meeting is part of the second phase of the consultations on the election of a caretaker prime minister - with the parliamentaryly represented parties, Nova TV reports.
Assen Vassilev, Ivaylo Mirchev, Bozhidar Bozhanov, Nadezhda Yordanova and Nikolay Denkov arrived at the presidency.
"Thank you for responding to the invitation for consultations. I am convinced that you, like me, are aware of the importance of these days and weeks for the situation in Bulgaria, for its development and for us to unite our efforts for security and stability in every respect. We must meet the expectations of Bulgarian citizens. They demanded fair and transparent elections, they demanded good organization of the elections in order to restore trust in Bulgarian institutions and in the electoral process," the head of state said.
She also mentioned the "minimal amendments to the Electoral Code, which have been adopted by the Legal Committee in Parliament" . According to her, one of the most important topics in the talks will be what needs to be done to guarantee the expectations of Bulgarians regarding the days leading up to the elections and the day of the vote itself.
Yotova stressed the importance of having some continuity between the outgoing government and the caretaker cabinet. "At least from the point of view that those who will take on this heavy cross must know what legacy they are receiving, how to continue and where to start. This activity and this responsibility will continue until a regular government is formed," she said.
In front of the PP-DB on "Dondukov 2", representatives of the GERB-SDF parliamentary group arrived for talks - deputy chairmen of the parliamentary group Raya Nazaryan, Kostadin Angelov and Denitsa Sacheva.
