The Middle East is just a powder keg. There are agreements on the Gaza Strip, there is a ceasefire and after a while these contradictions erupt again and turn into war. Whatever is done, there will always be a war, which is very dangerous because of the deep religious contradictions. This was said in the program “The Day Live” on NOVA NEWS by Prof. Vladimir Chukov.
He commented on the upcoming talks in Istanbul between representatives of Iran and the US. According to him, the meeting on Friday is extremely important, since things are largely predetermined.
“This meeting is above all Trump's desire to convince people that it is very difficult to negotiate with Iran”, he said. According to him, the regional countries that have been invited - Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Oman and Pakistan, together with Turkey, are like a kind of jury. They are directly threatened if the conflict escalates, he added.
Prof. Chukov also said that in the atmosphere of the extremely tense situation between Iran and the US, the EU stands in solidarity with the US.
