Evelina Slavkova: Iliana Yotova's situation is very complicated - 1

The election campaign has begun. We can draw this conclusion after consultations with President Iliana Yotova, who will try to maintain the thesis that she is equally distant from all parties at all times.

This was stated in the program "Denyat na Live" on NOVA NEWS by the sociologist from "Trend" Evelina Slavkova, who commented on the political situation in the country.

"Regardless of who is elected as the caretaker prime minister, there will be many skirmishes over the changes to the Constitution. Next week we have to find out the name of the caretaker prime minister. Then the skirmishes will begin over who the caretaker prime minister is closer to. Every decision of the caretaker cabinet will be attacked. Iliana Yotova's situation is very complicated. She will run as a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections and every decision can be seen as a plus, but also as a minus. All this is because of the inadequate constitutional changes. In this case, it does not matter who is president. Boyko Borisov himself described as exotic the GERB proposal during the consultations with the president to replace Raya Nazaryan and vote for the NA Speaker, who will choose Yotova. For me, GERB does not want their person to be elected as the caretaker prime minister, because this would mean taking all the negatives from the caretaker cabinet," she added.

"We need to see who the new BSP chairperson will be and whether he will be able to mobilize the party's electorate to go to Rumen Radev. The BSP managed to retain a solid core, but now the question is whether this core will be enough for the coveted 4% to enter the NA. We are aware that there will be an increase in voter turnout and the 96,000 or 97,000 votes with which "Majesty" entered the last parliament will not be enough. Most likely, 150,000-170,000 votes will be needed. I am generally optimistic about the BSP, but it all depends on who they elect as the new chairman," concluded Evelina Slavkova.
