The child of speleologist Yani Makulev is missing and is being sought after the triple murder in the area of “Petrohan“ Ivaylo Kalushev. Makulev confirmed on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria“ on Nova TV and specified that he does not know the exact whereabouts of his son. Nikolay Zlatkov, who is among the founders of the “National Agency for Control of Protected Areas“, is also with them, and is also being sought.
“We last communicated on January 29. Then he was at sea, and from then on the traces are lost. The three of them were there for a walk and for diving“, said the father. The child is 15 years old and has not been contacted since. His son's phone is turned off, and Makulev added that he does not use an application to track him, but hopes that everything is fine.
The caver explained that he does not know exactly where his son is now, but he can explain where the base where he and Kalushev were was approximately: “He had a base in Bulgarene, there is a turnoff from the road“. He specified that after the stay at sea, the child and Kalushev did not return to the village, and their direction and current location remain unknown.
“Kalushev has not contacted me in any way, directly or indirectly, to say ‚We are fine‘,“ explained Makulev. He said that as soon as he found out about the tragedy in Petrokhan, he tried to contact everyone involved, but their phones were turned off.
Despite the lack of contact, Yani Makulev expressed confidence that his child was fine: “I am calm right now because I know who Alex is with and I am happy that he is safe. I rely on my inner instinct, as an athlete and a parent, but I am convinced that in a day or two there will be developments on the subject and they will appear“.
The father stressed that there is no evidence of an incident or danger. Makulev expressed hope that his son and the others who were with him are safe and will appear soon.
