According to information from internal sources to NOVA, Krum Zarkov is the new chairman of the BSP. He leads by about 100 votes over Borislav Gutsanov.
We recall that earlier on Saturday, Atanas Zafirov resigned as leader of the BSP. This happened during the 51st extraordinary congress of the party, for which nearly 700 delegates gathered in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture. It came about after the resignation of the “Zhelyazkov” cabinet, followed by the resignations of the BSP Executive Bureau.
There were 52 candidates for the leadership position. But later it became clear that only Krum Zarkov, Borislav Gutsanov and Rusi Statkov would participate in the election for chairman of the BSP.
