"We have no problem with the replacement of regional governors. What we said is that the replaced 28 out of 28 governors are direct functionaries of ''Continuing Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB)", said GERB-SDF MP Toma Bykov on the sidelines of the parliament in connection with the caretaker government's decision to appoint 28 regional governors by dismissing those who had previously held these positions.
"This approach does not guarantee fair elections and impartiality", he added and explained: "We believe that Andrey Gyurov's government will work only for PP-DB".
"The "Gyurov" cabinet also demanded the replacement of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Miroslav Rashkov, and his deputy. "The last Secretary General that these people sent was named Zhivko Kotsev - you know how he ended up, with poodles and tuxedos", he said and added that they do not trust the caretaker government. "We hope that if this person is appointed as Secretary General, he will have a different approach", said Bykov and concluded categorically that they do not trust the official cabinet.
