The upcoming visit on Thursday of Acting Energy Minister Traycho Traykov to the Kozloduy NPP is aimed at dismissing the plant's management, FACTS has learned.
This is happening against the backdrop of the planned launch of Unit 6 after the removal of a defective protective membrane device on separators (one of eight) on the unit's turbine steam generator.
According to informed sources, the current executive director would be replaced by Kiril Kirilov - head of the "Investments" Department at the time of Nasko Mihov and the sanctioned "Magnitsky" Alexander Nikolov.
BEH had information that during their management of the plant in 2020-2021, the planned delivery of original protective membranes, which would have avoided the current repairs, was not made. Kirilov was known to be part of Nikolov's close personal circle, and that under his pressure he had joined the PP-DB structures.
BEH had information that during the management of Mihov, Nikolov and Kirilov, Alexander Nikolov had excessively loaded the third steam generator at the 6th unit by ordering
to increase the reactor's power, without permission from the manufacturer AO OKB “GIDROPRESS“ (Podolsk/Moscow), with the consent received only from the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” (Moscow).
DANS has been notified of the latter circumstance, but there is no information about a response yet.
