The District Prosecutor's Office in Blagoevgrad filed an indictment with the District Court – Sandanski against a 53-year-old man for crimes committed in the context of domestic violence against his wife, the press center of the Appellate Prosecutor's Office-Sofia announced.
The accused T. T. was brought to trial for three crimes – violating a court order for protection from domestic violence, causing minor bodily harm and making a murder threat.
The couple lived in the village of Lebnitsa, Sandanski municipality. On May 4, 2025, after a scandal broke out between them, the woman left the family home and moved to her parents in the village of Struma. Two weeks later, she filed for divorce with the District Court – Sandanski.
By court order dated August 29, 2025, the accused was ordered to refrain from committing domestic violence against his wife, as well as not to approach her, including her home and workplace, and not to have any contact with her.
According to the indictment, on December 4, 2025, the man violated the court order, punched her and choked her.
He also made death threats, which caused fear in the victim. Witnesses to the incident managed to stop the attack.
The victim was examined by a doctor.
The appointed forensic medical examination found traumatic injuries - contusions in the head, mouth, wrist and neck, as well as abrasions.
