Ivaylo Mirchev: The caretaker government successfully coped with the largest evacuation in the country's history - 1

I will appeal to every adequate political force in parliament to support the extension of the budget, said the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev in “The Interview“ on BNT.

“I think we will collect 100% and this will not be a problem. Something very important. We need to vote on the extension budget and the money that is under the SAFE mechanism, which is related to the rearmament of the Bulgarian army. This is something critically important and I will appeal to every adequate political force in parliament to support the extension.“

Ivaylo Mirchev described the actions of the caretaker Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynski and her team in evacuating our compatriots from the conflict zone in the Middle East as quite good, and of the cabinet as a whole – as impressive:

"I would say, quite a good job by Nadezhda Neynski and her team in the caretaker government, because in an extremely short time, this is the largest evacuation in the history of the country, the caretaker government managed to cope."

Mirchev added that he hopes for an inspection of the work of the consulate in Dubai due to signals from our compatriots that there were lists of VIP passengers.

Regarding the two meetings of the Prime Minister's Security Council, Ivaylo Mirchev recalled that it has two forms – operational and with the presence of political forces.

"I was at the second meeting of the Security Council and it turned out that the work was actually done and they reported to us what was done. The important thing here is that the government did its job. This is impressive, by the way, for an official expert government."

Regarding the case of the Bulgarian European Prosecutor Teodora Georgieva, Mirchev announced that both the decision of the European Prosecutor's Office's board that she was guilty of disciplinary violations and her signal that she had been threatened and pressured should be very carefully examined:

"The big problem, however, is that this is yet another signal. And to the European Prosecutor, to the Prosecutor General of Bulgaria and to the political leader, obviously Delyan Peevski. Peevski's influence in the judicial system is no secret. It is no secret to anyone. It is no secret that Sarafov, together with another group gravitating around Peevski, control a large part of the services in Bulgaria, the judicial system, individual courts, even specific judges. This must be put to an end."

Regarding the changes in both the regional governors and the heads of local police departments, Mirchev recalled:

"If you remember, during the consultations with President Yotova, we were the first, I think, to set these priorities, how Bulgaria can have fair elections. To change the regional governors. To change the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Not because we have to have this and someone has to be changed, but because they participate in vote buying and they make the elections in Bulgaria unfair. To make a very good revision of payments to municipalities. All of this has also become priorities of the caretaker government. Certain interests of the Borisov-Peevski model are being affected quite severely. The attacks, if you notice, come from there. They are mainly directed at those ministers who most seriously attack the model in question."
